G-system, MIDI, and Ableton Live

So last night, I messed with connecting the G-system to my Mac. I was able to get the G-system to control the transport and stop buttons by changing the switches (I chose the filter and compressor buttons) to transmit MIDI CC 20 and 21 (the numbers are arbitrary).
However, I wasn't able to get Live to respond to program change numbers, which would be far better because I have a lot of preset slots at my disposal. Does anyone using Ableton Live no how to get it to respond to program changes.
Conversely, does anyone know how to get the G-system to transmit MIDI CC without having to change the switches?
