Oscillating Circuits Are Just Too Muchronzam2002 says... Ok, in my continuing search for an LM386 (which has landed me some very interesting other things so far) I have decided to mess around with other ways to make clicks, beeps, and blinks. This is the "flip-flop" LED flasher I made on the breadboard:http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj234/A...pg?t=1201119643 What perplexes me is that LED2 seems to stay on longer than LED1, which only flashes briefly, as if interrupting LED2. Why don't both LEDs take turns like they should, each with an equal amount of time lit? C1 and C2 are the same size as are R3 and R4. So why is the "flip-flop" of the circuit so asymmetrical? How can I make it symmetrical? Thanks! Adam O. hassnan says... I assume the transistors are the same too? As well as the LEDs? If the transistors are different then a different base voltage can be used to turn them on, maybe leaving one on longer. And if the LEDs are different then one may draw more current than the other, draining one of the capacitors faster.bzx says... The LEDs are harvested from a printer and they look the same to me. I also messed around with different LEDs, including the kind that has 3 leads (and two LE semiconductor chips inside). In all cases, LED2 stays on longer. I will re-check my transistors to make sure they are the same.Thanks! |
