Transformer hum - WT 800BTayyeb Nauman says... Hi all together...I Have a hum problem with my brand new Eden WT 800B Amp (I am using it at Germany/bought also at germany). The hum seems to come from the transformer - a physical, mechanical or call it a magnetical hum. I think that transformers only hum under heavy load, but the transformer of my amp does until switched on, without any load connected. My profession is a electric engineer, and I think that I know what I am speaking of ;-). The hum is loud enough to hear it across two rooms (in silent areas). When practicing, this is very annoying. It is also hearable when there are no speakers connected. All parts inside the Amp are tightened well. In other respects the amp works very fine! Who can help me with that issue?Andy not yet tps_star says... Hi speeballI,m afraid that all I can offer you is a welcome. but if you check back in here in 8 to 10hrs I,m sure someone here will come up with some ideas for you to try WT800C,410XST,410XLT,D112XLT X2, SPECTOR EURO 5LX,GROOVE TOOLS 7string,Gretsch Electrotone,Danno Baritone and other sundries! " ONE NOTE ONE LIFE " neoaspilet11 says... Andy, it's hard to say if your amp has a problem or not. Reason -- on 50 cycle current, the transformer will hum more than on 60Hz. So I don't know if what you're hearing is normal, or too much. If possible, take it back to the store and compare the amount of hum from your unit to the hum from another one. If they're the same, it's the 50Hz beast. Will try to keep an eye here to see what develops. And welcome to the forum!
