Transporting Bass guitars in a plane

ednan says...

Hi,

I plan to purchase some bass gear on my next trip overseas. Top of the list of things I want to buy is a bass guitar and/or an Eden cab. Does anyone have any hints on transporting any of these on plane with me? Because of their size, I need to have checked in.

Thanks in advance.NC210

The cab is easy, If you get it brand new keep it in the box. Eden packs there cabs pretty good and should do fine being handled by airline personel. The bass guitar is a bit more tricky, Most airlines I have been on (US travel only) let you store a guitar/bass in the overhead if it is in a gig bag. If you get a case I have not seen any allowed on a plane and have to be checked as baggage and then just keep your fingers crossed and hope the baggage handlers treat it with care.

Get a flight case. Their rugged and expensive but they are the best..........
