Driver circuit for Luxeon Star LEDs ?

zuisti says...

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and I'd like to ask for your help.

I am want to use Luxeon's super bright white LEDs on my bike
(Luxeon III Star) - LEDs

but the LED Driver circuit costs too much I think.
(dotlight.de) - driver circuits

I would like to ask if any of you could help me to find the suitable driver IC and or schematic to make a constant current LED driver circuit that could be adjusted around to 700-800mA limit, and would operate beween 5-25Volts imput. I would build the driver circuit myself. Something similar to the ones on dotlight.de.

Thanks!
n.

Hi,
found this link on TI (Google tries a bit too hard to be your friend) and follow the link "View all White LED Drivers", this brings up a parametric page... here you have quite some possibilities. I don't know prices, but if too high any current mode controller (2$?) will do, 've seen examples, but can't remember them right now.
Grts,
K.

Hi exes,

Thanks for the info. I just ran through the links briefly and found two drivers that seem usable:

LM2731 and LM2733

Hope others have a word or two to say.
